We as the combined church of Leduc have an amazing opportunity to stand in our unity in Christ and to serve our greater community at one of its deepest points of need. For this year’s Fall Food Round-Up, to benefit the Leduc and District Food Bank, we are desiring to see individuals from every congregation working together within their own neighbourhood to help in the collection of food to replenish the shelves at the Food Bank before the winter season.
Historically, we have distributed neighbourhood route maps to various congregations and asked them to do a door to door collection of food.
This year we are asking individuals to gather with their neighbors from other churches, community groups and families to serve together for two different service opportunities. They will be:
There are many benefits to the changes that are being made. A few of them are:
To make this opportunity a success it is imperative that we get people to register AS SOON AS POSSIBLE so we can assure adequate numbers for the Food Round-Up and to make sure we can communicate with each neighbourhood team in a timely fashion.
STEPS TO GETTING INVOLVED:
1. Register your desire to participate As Soon As Possible. You can do this by Clicking Here. This site only asks for some basic contact info including your neighbourhood. This information will only be used for this event and will not be shared with anyone. If you live outside the city but would like to help please register and click the “rural” option for your neighbourhood. We will be glad to assign you to a group in need of extra help.
2. Wait for communication from your Neighbourhood Coordinator giving you the details for the two events listed earlier. You can volunteer for either or both of the events as you are available.
If you have any further questions please email Pastor Dennis at dennisgulley@gmail.com or call the church office.
